LAWRENCE OKOLIE brought his world title to a standstill with the late replacement Nikodem Jezewski, who needed oxygen.
But after the Pole had tested positive for the corona virus, his dream of becoming a world champion fell by the wayside.
Okolie insisted he wouldn’t be discouraged by the setback and vowed to take care of the job at hand.
And the 27-year-old kept his promise when he dropped Jezewski three times within two one-sided rounds.
Okolie said, « It was amazing, obviously I knew I had to do a good job in order to secure the world title next year.
« Eddie spoke to me yesterday and said he wants a knockout and I’m happy to deliver.
Okolie came out of the blocks as soon as the first bell rang and immediately used his superior reach to use the straight right hand in the center.
In the middle of the round, Jezewski was pushed against the ropes and forced to his knees after a devastating body shot.
The tough teak substitute hit the count, but was soon on the floor.
A double thrust followed by a right hand shook Jezewski’s legs before Okolie landed a perfect shot through the guard.
Jezewski got up again, only to send more punishment, but survived the round.
In the second, it turned out to be a similar story, when Okolie rocked his husband before a devastating right-hand man shut down the show.
The 2016 Olympic champion went 15-0 with eleven knockout games and adjusted perfectly to Glowacki to take the crusier weight crown next year.
Joshua and Pulev both hit each other after the bell on round three when it gets nasty
