A director who was caught talking trash during a foreplay in Lukas Gage’s apartment has revealed himself to be Tristram Shapeero and apologized.
Euphoria star Gage shared footage from the moment Shapeero, who was kept anonymous in the video, mocked the size of his house via Zoom and the clip quickly went viral.
British television director Shapeero has worked on a number of high profile shows including The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, New Girl and Parks and Recreation.
Shapeero posted an apology via Deadline, confessing that his misconduct will help him be a « more empathetic man » and a « more focused director. ». .

“An actor, Lukas Gage, posted a clip on social media from a Zoom casting he and I attended in August. Meanwhile, an undamped director is referring to tiny apartments and « those poor people » and referring to actors.
« The quick-witted Gage replies that he knows his apartment sucks, so he needs this job so he can get a better one.

He continued, “Despite all the probably wise advice, I have decided to speak up, take responsibility, and apologize, to say the least. Gage deserves it and provides background information for my unacceptable and insensitive remarks.
“I’m Tristram Shapeero, a 20 year old television director, half in the UK and half in the US.
« First and foremost, I offer Lord. Sincerely apologize for my offensive words, my unprofessional behavior during foreplay, and for not giving him the focus and attention he deserves.
“My job is to rate the cast based on the part I want to cast. Lukas deserves better.
“This zoom audition took place in August after a four-month ban. Some of my employees also took part in the auditions that took place over several days. It was emotional to see actors work so hard to win the few parts available, and we were deeply moved by the passion of these young people in the extraordinary circumstances.
“I used the word“ poor ”in the sense of sympathy, contrary to any economic judgment. My words were spoken by a real place of appreciation for what the actors had to endure, get stuck in a small space and find it within themselves to produce a role-winning performance under these conditions. ‘
Shapeero concluded, « As I say in the video, I am ashamed of what happened. While I can’t put the proverbial toothpaste back in the tube, I’m moving from this incident to a more sensitive man. A more focused director and I promise, an even better partner for actors from the foreplay process to the final cut.
In the clip, Shapeero was heard saying, “These poor people live in these tiny apartments. I look at his background and he has his television . . . «
Gage responded like a pro to the director’s remarks, saying, « Oh, yes, mute it. I know it’s a fucking apartment so give me this job so I can get a better one. ‘
