Following news that seven Melbourne players were banned from the NRL All-Star game, the indigenous team at TAB has become a strong $ 1.52 favorite to defeat the Maori team (2, $ 55) on Saturday night at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville.
The Indigenous All-Stars were underdogs at TAB $ 2 on February 12 (Maori All-Stars $ 1.80) before it was announced that the recent COVID-19 lockdown in Victoria Storm would exclude players from participating in the All-Star game.
Since betting reopened Monday morning, the Indigenous All-Stars have been up from $ 1.65 US $ 1.52, while Maori All-Stars have risen from US $ 2.25 to US $ 2.55.
The indigenous crew has to go without Josh Addo-Carr, while the Maori Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Jesse and Kenny Bromwich, Jahrome Hughes, Brandon and Reimis Smith are all off their roster.
