Cary, NC (January 16, 2021) – World and three-time NWSL champion Abby Dahlkemper has signed a deal with England club Manchester City, the club announced today. NC Courage retains the NWSL rights to Dahlkemper.

I will forever remember my time of courage and miss you all so much. “
Since 2017 Dahlkemper has performed 71 performances with the Courage for a total of 6,420 minutes. She contributed three templates and made 237 approvals in four seasons. The center-back was a starter in both the 2018 and 2019 NWSL championships, where the courage was victorious. During the Fall 2020 series, Dahlkemper served as captain of the North Carolina Courage and scored her first goal with the team.

Manchester City plays in the FA Women ‘s Super League and is currently fourth. In the 2019-2020 season, the team secured their fifth consecutive qualification for the UEFA Women’ s Champions League. Dahlkemper will win join her former NC Courage teammate Sam Mewis and USWNT teammate Rose Lavelle, who both signed contracts with Man City in August 2020.
