The fourth Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan will face the fourth Moldovan Radu Albot in the semifinals of the Singapore Open ATP event 2021. The game will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at approximately 4:30 am EST. Will Bublik win and reach its second final of the 2021 season?

Alexander Bublik is one of the most unpredictable players on the ATP Tour. He is full of talent and is likely to cause a shocking surprise when he beats a top 10 player as he loses to a stranger. He has a big serve and groundstroke but can very easily lose focus and throw away matches. So far, however, he appeared to be completely locked up in 2021, with some mature appearances. So far this week in Singapore he has been impressive, winning both games comprehensively in straight sets. In these ATP 250 tournaments, the formula for Bublik is simple. If he is fully focused he is likely to win, if he is not he is likely not to win. He enters this match as a favorite against a strong opponent.

Radu Albot is currently 76th and has had difficulties winning together in recent years. After making an impressive entry into the top 40 a few years ago, he seemed to have left his form. He’s looked much better so far in 2021 and started the year strong with a third round appearance at the Australian Open. He’s been here in mixed form this week, with a match point against Yannick Hanfmann before winning in three sets. He then thoroughly dominated Adrian Mannarino in the quarterfinals to earn his place here. He’s a fighter who chases every ball, the kind of opponent that can frustrate Bublik.

This should be an interesting game between two players with very different styles. As mentioned earlier, Bublik’s focus and temperament should come down to it. Albot is sure to frustrate him with his « never say death » attitude, but if Bublik can keep his emotions in check, he should have more than enough firepower to take victory here. Alexander Bublik wins.
