Prime Minister Scott Morrison said apprenticeship is an important avenue for attracting young people to jobs and for ensuring that there is a talent pool to meet the future needs of employers
“During this pandemic, the federal government has focused on supporting and creating jobs as well as identifying the skills we need for economic reconstruction,” the Prime Minister said

The grant will be available to employers of any size or industry, across Australia, who hire an Australian apprentice or intern from October 5, 2020 until the 100,000 cap is reached
Under the new measure, employers will be entitled to 50 percent of the salary of a new or new apprentice or trainee for the period up to September 30, 2021, up to $ 7,000 per trimester
Jobs, Skills, Small and Family Business Minister Senator Michaelia Cash said the measure builds on existing $ 2 billion in wage subsidies to support apprentices and trainees who help employers retain their apprentices and trainees
