The new format, known as The Morning Crew, is presented by Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes, Ed Kavalee and Erin Molan.

Dave and Ed are currently hosting the Hit Network’s drive show while Erin is being drafted by Nine Radio, where she was known for her 2GB sports coverage.

Fresh Start: Southern Cross Austereo has announced its newest line-up for Sydney’s 2Day FM breakfast show. The new format, known as The Morning Crew, is presented by Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes (center), Ed Kavalee (left) and Erin Molan (right)

‘Erin is staying with Nine’s television business. She is leaving Nine Radio and leaving with our best wishes as we didn’t want to stand between her and a great opportunity, ”said a network spokesman.

The 2Day FM Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin will replace Music For Breakfast, the music-only show that Jamie Angel has been hosting since August 2019.

Dave Cameron, SCA’s chief content officer, said he was fortunate enough to bring the trio together for a brilliantly fun and established show that Sydney already knows and loves, and that is ready to take the first step in 2021. ‘

« Hughesy has been number one in Sydney for many years and overall the crew are trusted, strong performers in our target market, » added Cameron.

Hit Network chief executive Gemma Fordham said: ‘We will continue to build on a list of regulars to bring the 2Day FM Morning Crew to life and we know Sydney will be delighted with this show in 2021 – a really fun show at the start of the day, alongside our emotional « feel good » music format. ‘

Recruit: Erin is drafted by Nine Radio, where she is known for her sports coverage

Hughesy said his inbox was « already full » of messages from real estate agents suggesting properties after his promotion from the breakfast drive.

‘Look, I can’t buy all of them, but I’ll have a crack!’ said the comedian, who will be moving from Melbourne to Sydney for the new role.

Until then, I’ll be staying at Kyle Sandiland’s pool house. In all seriousness, I have a ball working with Ed and I’m super excited to be working with Erin, ”he added.

‘This is going to be a great time. Every day from 10 a.m., I’m at the Bondi gym outside, training shirtless until my manboobs get rock hard! ‘

Meanwhile, it was announced on Monday that Hughesy’s former co-host Kate Langbroek will be returning to the Australian Radio Network.

She took a break from the limelight last year after moving to Italy with her family but will be returning to Melbourne in January.
