Hartley will assume command of incumbent CEO Blair Vernon, who has taken the helm while the executive search was underway. Now Vernon will return to his previous role as CEO of AMP’s New Zealand wealth management business, as always planned.

Hartley served as CEO of Sunsuper from 2014 to 2019, where he was recognized as a « Transformational Leader » in the group’s culture, technology, investment and multi-channel growth capabilities. This made Sunsuper Australia’s fourth largest superannuation and pension scheme.

The new Australian boss will report to AMP CEO Francesco De Ferrari, who had nothing but praise for Hartley’s ability to maintain a healthy work environment.
