The Tokyo Birds shared a new song with us today. « Weekend » is a fun summer single from the band and it comes with a new music video as well.
Adam Spark, Birds Of Tokyo guitarist and producer of « Weekend » explains:.
“After everyone’s year spent, I think we all felt the desire to make some kind of light summer music..
Weekend was written and recorded in the eastern states, despite Perth’s perspective on the track.
“The lyrics are very clear in this song,” says Kenny. “It’s written a lot from W.. a. impression. Obviously we were fortunate to have avoided most of the hardships people have endured elsewhere, so I didn’t want to shine the spotlight on that, but it seems like everyone in Australia has won a vacation or two on the beach after this crazy year. . . . Of course a safe weekend for Covid!
The band was scheduled to start their symphony tour in June this year but had to reschedule due to COVID-19. Find the new tour dates below.
