Dav Whatmore, who led Sri Lanka to victory in the 1996 50 Overs World Cup, has been named head coach of the Nepalese national team.
« Dav is very keen to take on this new challenge as he firmly believes that Nepal has great talent and a very bright future in international cricket, » the Cricket Association of Nepal said in a statement Thursday.
Nepal did not qualify for the Twenty20 World Cup in India next year. Whatmore’s first big job is to help them hit the 2022 edition in Australia. Reuters
