Detroit Pistons freshman Killian Hayes suffered a non-contact injury to his right hip in the third quarter of Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

At 10:36 am at the third mark, Hayes had stolen the ball and fell while trying to transition from Jrue Holiday. Hayes winced in pain as he landed on his left thigh and couldn’t get up immediately when he grabbed his right thigh area. He stayed on the ground and was looked after by the Pistons medical staff.

It is not yet clear how badly Hayes is injured. He had seven points and one assist before leaving the game.

The Pistons designed Hayes as their point guard of the future with the seventh overall selection in the 2020 NBA draft in November. The 19-year-old struggled offensively starting his NBA career when he stopped playing in Europe as a teenager. But his defense was positive.
