World News – AU – Face masks are no longer mandatory outdoors in Victoria as more rules become easier

. . After midnight, face masks are no longer required in Victoria as long as physical distance can be maintained. The Victorians can bring up to 15 visitors a day to their home, which increases to 30 in time for Christmas.

South Australia has registered a new case of coronavirus, an overseas traveler in quarantine. No new community transfer

was performed

From midnight, face masks are no longer required in Victoria as long as physical distance can be maintained.

Victorians must continue to wear face masks indoors and outdoors in case they cannot physically distance themselves.

« When you go to Bunnings and in the store, you wear a mask. You don’t have to wear your mask when you are in the parking lot, « said Prime Minister Daniel Andrews.

« But when you’re in line for a sausage and you’re with other people and just don’t keep your distance – you’re part of a crowd, you have to put the mask on. «

The Relaxed Rule is one of a number of restrictions that will be relaxed when Victoria enters the final step of her « roadmap » towards COVID normally.

Victorians will be able to bring up to 15 visitors a day into their homes starting tomorrow, and the limit for outdoor gatherings will be increased to 50.

Indoor spaces such as cinemas, art galleries, and museums can accommodate up to 150 people indoors.

The number of guests allowed in large indoor dining venues will be increased to 150, with total venue capacity limited to 300 – subject to a density rate of one person per four square meters in larger venues.

For smaller restaurants, however, the density limit has been relaxed to allow one person per two square meters with a limit of 50 customers.

Mr. Andrews has also announced that the Victorians will be allowed to bring up to 30 visitors a day into their homes through Christmas.

It’s an incredible feat. And the clearest evidence of this is our determination not only to fight this virus, but also to suppress it.

Today, due to the efforts of every Victorian, it’s exactly what we were able to achieve.

For those who want to get in and plan how many seats there will be around the table, I won’t waste another second.

Today we can confirm that you can host up to 30 people in your home for Christmas. Babies under 12 months do not count towards the limit.

This change will take effect from 11. Just in time for catching up and Christmas spikes at 59 a.m. on 13. December – and for our Jewish communities the last days of Hanukkah.

Starting this evening at 11:59 p.m., the number of visitors to your home will increase from two to 15 per day.

That can be split up into different times – ten for lunch and five for dinner – as long as people stick to 15 total.

Outdoor gatherings in a public place – the park, the beach – will be increased to 50.

For couples who had to postpone their special day, weddings will be increased to 150 people. The same number applies to indoor funerals and religious ceremonies.

For smaller venues, the density limit changes to one person per two square meters – up to 50 customers. Keeping QR code records is mandatory. For larger venues, the density limit remains the same, but the upper limit is increased to 150. The total capacity of the venue will also increase to 300.

And in good news for community clubs, contact and non-contact sports may begin for both adults and children – 150 people indoors with a group size of up to 20 and 500 people outdoors with groups of up to 50 people.

Organizers can also apply to host a public event. Depending on whether it is a school party or a large sports match, different requirements and rules must apply.

We can also start a phased approach for employees going back to the office. From the 30th. November up to 25 percent of the employees can be present on site.

However, I want to make it clear that unless you are one of the people nominated by your employer, you must continue to work from home.

In short, you still need to wear one when you’re indoors and on public transit – and when you can’t keep your distance.

However, when you are outdoors and able to maintain a safe distance, masks are no longer mandatory.

For example, you still have to wear your mask when in a busy outdoor market – or when you have to queue at your local bunnings.

You don’t have to wear a mask if you want to take a quiet stroll around the neighborhood – but you will have to wear one in case the situation changes.

But the point is, masks are a small sacrifice that protects us all.

And as we were reminded recently, it only takes one case before you have a much larger outbreak.

We’ll have more to say about what a COVIDSafe Summer « will look like over the next few weeks – and, consistent with what our public health experts tell us, safe.
