Hughes will be moving to Sydney from Melbourne before his new program called The 2DayFM Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin Molan on May 18. January starts. A one-hour highlights package will air nationwide at 6 p.m. on all hit stations, including Fox in Melbourne.

On 27. On January 1st, Langbroek will host the 3PM Pick Up with Monty Dimond and Yumi Stynes, which will be broadcast on ARN’s Kiis stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. She replaces Bec Judd, who has decided to take a break from the media.

« After our family adventures in Italy, I look forward to returning to great Australia and ARN (Australian Radio Network) – speaking my mother tongue: radio, » said Langbroek.

« I promise I won’t be one of those angry people who comes back from abroad with an accent and a whole new vocabulary. «

Talking to this masthead about his new role, Hughes said, « I’m excited; it’s going to be big. The last time I did brekkie radio was in 2013 so it’s a big step for me. «

Langboek made her radio debut on the community broadcaster Triple R in Melbourne in the late 1990s as co-host of the longstanding Breakfasters program. After a brief stint at Triple M, Langbroek and Dave Hughes directed the launch of Nova in Melbourne and hosted the highly rated breakfast show for 12 years.

In 2015, Langbroek and Hughes launched a national drive show on Kiis before switching to the competing hit network in 2018.

After Langbroek moved to Bologna in 2019, she continued to host her hit program with Hughes from her home studio until Ed Kavalee took over the post earlier this year.

« I’m very excited to see Kate back on the network, » said Duncan Campbell, ARN’s chief content officer.

« She is a seasoned broadcaster and will give the show a new perspective after her time in Italy. Kate has a way of engaging with audiences that sets her apart, and we look forward to bringing the chemistry and dynamics to life between Kate, Monty and Yumi on the air. «

In a statement, Hughes said, « I have a ball working with Ed and I’m super excited to be working with Erin. It’s going to be a great time. Every day from 10 a.m., I’m at the Bondi gym outdoors, training shirtless until my manboobs get rock hard. «

In 2013, 2Day breakfast presenters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O revealed that they had been poached by rival station Kiis.

Your defect triggered a slump in ratings at 2Day, and subsequent breakfast programs found no audience. Last August, 2Day announced that it would be a music-based breakfast show that was also doing badly.

{every morning in Sydney, « said Dave Cameron, chief content officer at Southern Cross Austereo radio.

« The 2DayFM Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin are going to come up with a clever joke with a show that is already at the top of their game. We can’t wait to make big strides and get 2Day pumping again. «
