. . Scottish cricketers have achieved remarkable twos by being recognized as Player of the Decade in both the men's and women's categories at the International Cricket Council Awards.

. .

Scottish batsman Kyle Coetzer received the men’s award after scoring 2,277 runs averaging 45. 54 in one-day international games during the award ceremony.

All-rounder Kathryn Bryce, who averaged 50 with the bat and 9. 93 with the ball in 20 international matches during the award ceremony won the women’s award.

She dedicated it to her predecessors on the Scottish team who paved the way for women to play cricket in this country.

« It is a real honor to win this award, thank you for all your support, » wrote the Scottish captain on Twitter. “A special mention goes to every woman who has played for Scotland before me and has helped enable this team to compete in global tournaments. ”

Bryce, 23, formerly Watsonians, now plays for Loughborough Lightning and recently signed a full-time contract for the ECB with her younger sister and Scottish international Sarah, 20, who was also nominated for the Player of the Decade.

Aberdeen-born Coetzer (36) overcame the challenge of Scottish international teammates Calum MacLeod and Richie Berrington to receive the men’s ICC award.

The Awards of the Decade was the first time that the voice of the fans was involved in the selection of the winners. The votes of the fans made up 10 percent of the vote, while the votes of an expert panel made up the remaining 90 percent.
