Kristen Wiig became a mother earlier this year when she secretly welcomed twins to replace them in January.

But the eight-time Emmy nominee didn’t have the typical maternity experience in the first year of her babies.

She recently realized the challenges of raising her 11-month-old firstborn while quarantined due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic when she promoted the long overdue Wonder Woman in 1984.

The 47-year-old admitted that it wasn’t all bad when she told people, “I love that I can be with my family. My babies don’t even walk. I want to be at home with them, which was of course positive for me. ‘

She revealed that the hardest part is not to socialize them: “But they don’t see anyone either. I have really close friends who my kids haven’t seen in a long time. ‘

‘But they are growing and I can’t wait to see them every morning. However, it’s not all just lying around and smiling at babies. It is overwhelming to think of everyone else who is having problems, and hard to know well. ‘

She also talked about her years of struggle with in vitro fertilization, a process that was both physically and mentally demanding.

Wiig said, “We’ve been together for about five years and three of them were put in an IVF haze. Emotionally, spiritually and medically, it was probably the most difficult time of my life. I wasn’t myself.

‘There are so many emotions that come with it – you are always waiting on the phone and getting test results, and it was all bad news after bad news. Occasionally there was a good month, but then it was just bad news. There was a lot of stress and heartache. ‘
