Manchester United reportedly wants Jesse Lingard’s suitors to have almost his entire weekly wage of 100. Paying £ 000 to let him go in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a departure from Old Trafford when the window reopens after the pecking order on Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s squad fell.
Aston Villa is among the clubs that have been attributed an interest in Lingard who has not appeared for United in nearly three months.
It was alleged earlier this month that Villa, as well as West Bromwich Albion and the Scottish team Celtic and Rangers, were monitoring Lingard’s situation.
The Manchester Evening News reports that Sheffield United are desperate to loan the England international to improve their survival proposition.
Chris Wilder’s side are stuck at the bottom of the Premier League table after taking just one point in their first 13 games.
The report adds that United would « expect » them to pay the majority of Lingard’s wages and also plans to trigger a one-year contract extension to sell the attacker next year.
The former Birmingham City borrower will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Lingard scored 13 goals in the 2017/18 season and went to Russia for the World Cup, but his form has deteriorated since then.
He finished last season with just one goal in the Premier League and was unable to score or help out in league games throughout 2019.
