The Brooklyn Nets sideline is going to be filled with plenty of attacking brains next season as Mike D’Antoni has reportedly agreed to a deal to become Steve Nash’s assistant staff coach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski D’Antoni resigned as head coach of the Houston Rockets shortly after the team lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Lakers, and many believed he would find another coaching position- leader in the league
At the start of his free coaching agency, D’Antoni was attached to several jobs, including the Pelicans and the Pacers But it was reported in mid-October that the two-time coach of the year was a potential candidate to join the Nets coaching staff. With D’Antoni joining the Brooklyn staff, it reunites him with Nash, whom he coached on two separate stints throughout Nash’s career.
