According to Radio 1 host Greg James, a Lawson representative said in a statement that their pronunciation was an inside joke.

Others got involved on Twitter by pronouncing sausage (to rhyme with cream cheese) mangetout and quiche while feeling at home.

Lawson regularly makes headlines in the UK and is popular for her cooking shows and books where she enjoys simple and sometimes high calorie meals.
