The last four teams made it to the playoffs on Thursday when the group game at the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe event came to an end.

Complexity and Cloud9 came out of the lower group in Group A to advance to the quarter-finals. FaZe Clan and Team Spirit have been eliminated.

Complexity defeated FaZe Clan in a 2-1 match behind Benjamin « tadF » Bremer from Denmark, who had 81 kills and a plus-32 kill-death differential. Complexity scored a 16-4 win at Inferno to open the game, lost a tense 22-19 overtime contest at Nuke, and sealed the win with a 16-7 win at Mirage.

William « RUSH » Wierzba added a plus 15K-D differential for complexity. No player has made a positive differential for the FaZe Clan.

Cloud9 had an easier time with Team Spirit and won Nuke 16-14 on the first map. C9 then took the lead 14-1 against Dust II before winning 16-4.

Ozgur « woxic » Eker from Turkey led the winners with 45 kills and a plus 18K-D differential, while Briton Alex « Alex » McMeekin scored 44 kills and a plus-19 differential.

In Group B, GODSENT sent North to a 2-1 defeat. North bounced back from a 10-5 deficit at Train and won the first card 16-14, but dropped the next two, losing 16-9 at Nuke and 16-13 at Overpass.

GODSENT took the win even though only one player was on the plus-differential side. Pavle « Maden » Boskovic from Montenegro recorded 59 kills and 57 deaths. Nicklas « gade » Gade from Denmark led north with 72 kills and a plus-15 differential.

In the other competition of the day, Astralis won G2 Esports in a close match, winning 16-13 at Dust II and 19-16 at Inferno in OT. Peter « dupreeh » Rasmussen led the Danish team with 47 kills and a plus-11 differential. G2 got 51 kills and a plus-7 differential from Nikola « NiKo » Kovac from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The $ 150. 000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with 16 teams, which were divided into two groups of eight teams each. All games were in the best-of-three format. The four best teams in each group advance to the playoffs.

The playoffs have an elimination round with all best-of-three games, with the exception of the big final on Sunday, the best-of-five.
