A police operation is underway after a teenage boy was reportedly stabbed to death at Arthur Phillip High School in Parramatta.

A Sydney student was stabbed to death Monday morning, causing a school to be locked down while staff took care of the injured boy.

Police were called to Arthur Phillip High School in Parramatta, NSW, at 8 a.m.. At 30 o’clock a 14-year-old boy was reportedly stabbed to death.

« The school staff immediately provided first aid to the injured student, » while police and paramedics were out, a spokesman for the education department said.

Police believe the boy was the victim of a « targeted attack » by another 14-year-old who has not yet been found.

“Schools should be a safe place for our students at all times. I am confident that the police and the school community will investigate what has happened, ”she told reporters.

The injured teenager was rushed to Westmead Children’s Hospital by ambulance with wounds in his arm and back, a spokesman for NSW Ambulance said.

Helicopter footage from Channel 7 showed the boy being wheeled from the ambulance to the hospital emergency room.

He was in stable condition when he got there, said Joe Ibrahim, NSW ambulance inspector.

« Our paramedics did an exceptional job stabilizing and treating the teen who sustained some fairly serious injuries, » said Inspector Ibrahim.

« It’s absolutely horrible when we react to jobs like this, especially when it comes to someone so young. « . It’s a parent’s worst nightmare.

“The big concern is that while the injuries don’t look significant on the surface, they can cause more damage at a deeper level. ”
