World News – AU – Reveals: Why Popular Australian Pizza Chain Crashed

. . A year after the Australian pizza chain Little Caesars collapsed, the former director pointed his finger at the culprits.

. .

The man behind the failed Australian pizza chain Little Caesars has blamed her death with both his US namesake and a beleaguered cryptocurrency company.

A year after the collapse that led to the closure of all 14 NSW stores, Australian franchise director Ernest Koury pointed a finger at his main investor – cryptocurrency company Bitwealth – and US Little Caesars, the third largest pizza chain in America.

The claim is found in his and his wife Susan’s Chapter 11 debt restructuring petition in the Southern California Bankruptcy Court, which under the « Other Amounts Somebody Owes You » section has the potential for legal action against Bitwealth founder Matt Goettsche and listed is Gavin Dickson and a separate lawsuit against US Little Caesars.

« Bitwealth was a partner in a business that the debtors operated in Australia, » read the application filed on behalf of the Kourys.

« When the debtors stepped down and returned to the US, Bitwealth attempted to undermine the company’s other owners by attempting to move the debtor’s company’s assets into a new entity in order to eliminate the other partners’ property interests.

« Meanwhile, Matt G, the major owner of Bitwealth, was arrested by the New Jersey Department of Justice . . . because he was one of the (alleged) masterminds of a Bitcoin Ponzi program. Business in Australia was closed when he was arrested. «  »

In December 2019, Matthew Goettsche was accused of defrauding nearly $ 1 billion in an alleged cryptocurrency scam. He did not plead guilty. Mr. Dickson was not charged.

The bankruptcy filing also marks a « possible lawsuit » against US Little Caesars for « collusion with Bitwealth ». .

The bankruptcy filing lists 20 debts, including a potential US dollar1. $ 9 million liability from a US Little Caesars lawsuit.

The Kourys said their total debt was $ 3. 53 million ($ 4). 8 million). Australia’s Little Caesars liquidator Andrew Spring said in a report to creditors that he would report to corporate regulator ASIC that Mr. Koury may have « violated » six sections of the Corporations Act, including bankruptcy and the director’s duty not to abuse their position.
