Damien Hardwick has a new relationship with an employee in his club after separating from his wife – and that shook the Tigers.

Richmond has confirmed that Damien Hardwick is having a new relationship with a member of the administration just weeks after it was announced that he had separated from his wife, Danielle.

The Herald Sun received a statement from the club on Monday after rumors about the longtime trainer spread throughout the Footy community.

« The club is aware that manager Damien Hardwick is currently in a relationship with a member of the club’s administrative staff, » the statement said. “The club has no concerns about club policy. In addition, it is a private matter and we ask that you respect your privacy. ”

But the Herald Sun reported that it « rocked club staff and could affect the playgroup ». .

One of the most successful modern coaches, Hardwick has led the Tigers to three premierships in the past four years, including last year’s triumph over the cats.

After the 48-year-old led the Tigers to a big final win against Geelong, he reported the personal tribute the season had meant for him.

« I’ll be taking a slightly longer break this summer this summer, » Hardwick told 3AW.

« It’s been pretty busy in 3-4 years and we’ve done a hell of a job and had a lot of success along the way, but sometimes you have to step back. ”

Danielle was often referred to as « Mrs. Hardwick » by Tiger’s trainer at press conferences. She had an incredibly successful career in football, including Flags playing at Essendon and Port Adelaide and three others coaching Richmond.

The Herald Sun reported that Danielle spent a short time in Queensland because of the effects of COVID in Victoria while the Tigers were stationed at a hub this season. However, the reasons for their separation were unknown.

Danielle was incredibly popular in Richmond and was referred to in an Instagram post this Christmas as the « second family » of Tiger Captain Trent Cotchin and his wife Brooke.
