World News – AU – Tottenham battled for the title over two dressing room winners – not Kane or Son

. .

Tottenham is a real contender for the Premier League title this season and the winning experience of Gareth Bale and Hugo Lloris – combined with the nous of Jose Mourinho – adds to the lack of Premier League champions on their squad opposite. That is Paul Robinson’s judgment.

On the way to the North London derby this weekend against Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs are at the top of the table and tied with Liverpool.

Tottenham have remained unbeaten nine games since losing to Everton on the opening weekend, but were drawn by Chelsea last Sunday.

They are facing up against Mikel Arteta’s fighting arsenal for another statement after knocking down Manchester City on home soil two weeks ago.

And the former Spurs and England No.. 1 Robinson count on the experience of success that the loaned Bale, who won a multitude of trophies at Real Madrid, and Lloris – France’s shot stopper when they won the World Cup in 2018 – are in a good place.

While none of the Spurs players have ever won England’s top titles, and the Londoners have been without silver since 2008 and league win since 1961, Robinson also says that Mourinho – a three-time Premier League winner – will be a major influence in the changing room.

« I think Tottenham have a real chance to win the league this season. I would rate them as a title contender, « Robinson said exclusively with Ladbrokes at the start of Tottenham’s 5-A-Side bet against Arsenal, said.

« You have a great opportunity and I think Jose knows he has a real chance to make history this year.

« He’s confident in his team, he’s got that spark back in his eye. This is the best Spurs squad I’ve seen in a few years.

« I really believe they can face a serious title challenge as they have proven winners in the dressing room.

« Gareth Bale is a serial winner, Jose is a born winner, we know that. Hugo Lloris is a world champion; You have the ability and perseverance to fight for the title. «

Robinson is now supporting Spurs to win the derby on Sunday (4). 30pm kick-off) and added: « Whenever I played in this game, we were always inferior to the Arsenal team we played against.

« They were always stronger than us and it was always difficult to get a result against them.

« I don’t think I did well in my experience against Arsenal and North London was red at the time, but it sure isn’t anymore. « .

« When I think back to that whole derby experience that led to it, the days before, the days after, it’s been a really fantastic experience.

« People talk about the fiercest derbies and rivalries, but you would do well to get close to the derby in North London.

« I really enjoyed playing in them, although we never did very well. Playing against Arsenal has always been a tough game for me in my career.

« Whether I was in Leeds, Tottenham or Blackburn, they always seemed like a team I never did very well against.

« It’s never an easy game to play this one. It doesn’t matter that Arsenal are struggling and Spurs are in tip-top shape – shape goes out the window.

« But even the most pessimistic Tottenham fan can’t pick Arsenal as a favorite in this game. Spurs are so far ahead of them in form, results and quality of the squad.

« Spurs have a much stronger squad, a much stronger XI grid position and I’m making them clear favorites this weekend.

« They have been the strongest squad in North London for a while and Arsenal are way behind them.

« I’m going to Spurs 3-0. Two goals for Harry Kane and one goal for Gareth Bale in the last 10 minutes! «
