The United States and the Nevada government have been alerted by an anti-voter fraud group following a suspicious link between the state government website and a Lahore-based company allegedly affiliated with Pakistani intelligence.

In an article by Kristina Wong titled « Anti-Voter Fraud Group Finds Suspicious Link Between Nevada State Web Site and Pakistani Intelligence Firm, » posted Jan.. Posted on Dec. 12 in Breitbart News, it said: « True the Vote alerted state and federal agencies after requesting a Nevada voter registration list through the Nevada Secretary of State’s website and receiving an email with a downloadable voter file. This email came with a copied employee of the Pakistani company Kavtech Carbon. ”

Catherine Engelbrecht, President of True the Vote, informed John C.. . Demers, Assistant Attorney General for National Security, wrote in a letter received exclusively from Breitbart News: “I was shocked to see another email address added to the CC line. ”

“The address was waqas @ kavtech. network. Waqas Butt is the CEO of Kavtech Solutions Ltd. . . Kavtech is a Pakistani company based in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan that has ties to Pakistani intelligence, the military and inland areas, ”she said in the letter.

Meanwhile, electoral researchers familiar with the incident have argued that adding a different email address to the CC line was either an « accident involving a contractor who worked on the Secretary of State of Nevada website » or even an indication of the involvement of an unauthorized company, allegedly associated with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), in the back end of the Nevada government’s website system.

« Such an intrusion could be problematic if the voter registration list download also functions as a phishing attack, in which hackers gain access to the servers of those requesting the lists, or if hackers gain access to the email communications of the State government, « said Kristina.

« The fact that this company was notified in an email with access to the Nevada voter registration database appears to be evidence of a breach of the Nevada Secretary of State’s email system, » Engelbrecht told Demers.

« One of the problems that such a violation can prove is of course access to at least the voter registration information of Nevada residents. In the worst-case scenario, it could expose a violation that allows a foreign power to access not only Nevada state systems but also the e-mail systems of everyone the state communicates with via e-mail, ”she added.

Following the incident, Engelbrecht said in an interview with Breitbart News, “Why should you [Pakistani company] receive this information? Why should they show up on a CC line? There is no good way of looking at this for someone to feel confident about the safety of this process. ”

« Besides, we can only speak with our experience. Who knows what else is showing up and what else they are tracking? If it’s embedded in such a shape, they could do that for any number of things, ”she said.

« The implication here that a foreign company with known ties to the intelligence community in Pakistan cannot be overlooked. « . It is inexplicable and should be investigated, ”she added.

This incident also occurs after an executive committee of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on Dec.. November had stated in a statement: “While we know that there are many unsubstantiated claims and opportunities for misinformation about the conduct of our elections, we can assure you that we have the utmost confidence in the safety and integrity of our elections, and you should do this too. ”

Although Breitbart News has asked the Arizona Secretary of State and the Department of Justice for comments on the matter, it does not receive any comments.
