Sammy Jo-Johnson shows why she is at the top of the list of wicket takers. There’s a bit of exercise in Sydney, and the right arm pacemaker makes wonderful use of it. After the first 2 overs, only 1 run was scored straight away. Good start from Sydney Thunder Dies.

South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail opens bowling for Sydney Thunder. She holds it tight against Meg Lanning and Elyse Vilani. Stars will be looking for a strong start, but they have to be careful with Ismail.

There was drama in the first round when Meg Lanning was dropped. Ismail dropped it briefly and Lanning tried to cut it. Tammy Beaumont drops a relatively easy chance at this point.
