World news – Blast at Ramapo College injures construction workers


Occupational safety and health officials are investigating an explosion that injured a worker on a Mahway college campus Tuesday morning.

According to a statement released early Tuesday morning by Ramapo College officials, there was learning at the construction site Commons Library reported an incident in which workers performed a standard pressure test on the radiator line on the second floor of the building.

Officials said a seal failed and hit a construction worker, causing serious but not fatal injuries.

Officials said they work with the Mahwah Fire Department and Police, and the college and its contractors are temporarily holding construction suspended pending an assessment by OSHA officials.
