The DePaul Blue Demons and Butler Bulldogs meet at Hinkle Fieldhouse college basketball on Saturday.

DePaul is sitting around 3-7 a year. The Demons are 1-3 in their last four games, losing to Creighton. Butler is between 5 and 10 this year. The Bulldogs have lost three times in a row, most recently to Marquette. Check back all season for free college basketball tips on Sports Chat Place.

DePaul won the season opener against Western Illinois and lost four straight times to Providence, UConn, Seton Hall and UConn. It has since been a 2-3 run, with wins against Valparaiso and Marquette, and losses to Butler, St. Johns and Creighton.

In the 69:62 loss to Creighton on January 30th, DePaul’s Ray Salnave led the team with 21 points with five rebounds and one assist. Javon Freeman added 13 points with eight boards and five assists as the only other player on the team in the double digits.

On the Butler side, they only took the lead 7-3 in their first 10 games, beating Western Michigan, Providence and Georgetown. After beating Creighton and DePaul, the Bulldogs have lost to UConn, Xavier and Marquette in their last three games.

In the 70:67 loss to Marquette on Tuesday, Butler’s Chuck Harris put up 16 points with a rebound and assist. Bo Hodges doubled in with 15 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, and Bryce Nze threw in 13 points and six rebounds in 29 minutes.

The Bulldogs have 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 against a team with one Share of profits under .400 and ATS 4-0 in their last four against a team with a lost direct record. The under is 5-1 in their last six Bulldogs total and 4-1 in their last five Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Demons are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 as street favorites and 4-1 in their last four Saturday games. 0. The Under is also 8-0 in DePaul’s last eight.

PICK: I’m sticking with Butler. Both teams need a convincing win and I think the Bulldogs are in a better place to get it. The last time these teams met was a 67-53 Butler win. The Bulldogs had a 35-17 lead at break and never looked back. DePaul shot just 33.3 percent off the ground in this case, and was beaten 40-33. This one will likely be more competitive, but I still like Butler.
