Alan Shearer has welcomed the return of fans to a select number of Premier League games.
The government will allow a very limited number of fans to return to games taking place on grounds not in tier three areas when the national suspension ends next week.
That means 10 Premier League teams – each London club, both Merseyside teams and Southampton and Brighton – 2. 000 fans can welcome back to home games, as they are in an area of the second division.
However, the remaining 10 clubs are no longer allowed to return to the games as they are in a third tier area.
Some – including Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa – criticized the fact that the clubs that welcome the fans back are receiving an unfair sporting advantage.
But Amazon Prime expert Shearer says the sooner fans get back to the games, the better, even if it’s a phased system like this one.
« Yeah, it’s harder at a lot of clubs in the north, but we’ve said how much we’ve missed fans – and rightly so – for eight or nine months.
« So it’s a relief that you are coming back, and it’s good news that you are.
Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United have proven to be perfect. The legendary Argentine leads Leeds back to the promised land.
However, if recent history comes into play, Bielsa and Leeds will have an explosive influence.

« We all can’t wait for the fans to come back because if one thing should be recognized in the past few months, football is not the same, it is not that fun without fans.
Shearer’s stance contradicts White boss Bielsa, who argued that fans who return for only certain reasons are punishing these Tier 3 clubs for matters beyond their control.
He said, « Maybe there could be a rule that says fans who aren’t allowed in all stadiums shouldn’t be allowed in at all until everyone is allowed to have them. « .
« It shouldn’t be about the category or the consequences of a category, but about keeping the competition with the controllable things as equal as possible.
« I’m just looking at common sense that might not work. The presence of the fans affects the results. «
