Despite staying in the provincial COVID-19 framework exclusion zone, an Etobicoke restaurant will open Tuesday morning against Ford’s orders.
The owner of Adamson Barbecue took to Instagram to explain the decision in a three-minute video.
He claims that the positivity threshold of 2. 5% are set too low for other diseases to cause positive COVID-19 tests and for businesses to fail this winter.
The first comment on his Instagram video is: « That absolutely stinks of claim. . . Just because you decide you’re over doesn’t mean we aren’t in a global pandemic just yet. «
Companies located in the red or gray zones are not allowed to offer meals indoors.
The opening of Adamson Barbecue is a direct contradiction of provincial orders from Premier Ford and the restaurant could face heavy fines.
« This is a risky move, but you gave me the gas for it, » Adamson said during his video, referring to his supporting clients.
