He’s long been a staple of Vancouver Canucks home games, but apparently the last time Mark Donnelly sang the national anthem was at Rogers Arena.
Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini posted on Twitter on Friday, responding to a report by the Vancouver Sun that the Canucks anthem singer would perform at an anti-mask rally in Vancouver on Saturday.
Scheduled Saturday “B. . C.. . Christmas Freedom Rally ”is organized in part by Ryan Kulbaba, who has led several other anti-mask rallies in Vancouver since July.
Various anti-vaccine speakers took part in the events, explaining what the attendees refer to as censorship and transgression.
Others have expressed fears that a vaccine might be mandatory or argued that the death toll from the virus does not justify the economic impact of restrictions.
Previous rallies in Vancouver have also attracted supporters of a number of conspiracy theories, including debunked myths that masks cause cancer or other health problems, unsubstantiated allegations that Bill Gates wants to use vaccines to implant microchips in people, and the U. . S.. . -based QAnon fantasy claiming a cabal from U.. S.. . Pedophile politicians consume children’s blood.
Along with Donnelly, the event includes a message from Santa Claus, singing, speeches from anti-vaccination agent Ted Kuntz and the group Hugs over Masks, comedy, an anti-5G presentation and an anti-SOGI123 evangelical activist and former People’s Party candidate of Canada Laura Lynn Tyler Thomas.
