Two of the best Thanksgiving weekend traditions are still intact: NFL on Thursday and college football on Friday. College football will feature a handful of ranked teams on Friday afternoon, while a number of other teams will play on Saturday.

There will be a lot of fighting for the position for the top spots in the next college football playoff ranking. The first ranking was released earlier this week, with Alabama at the top. The Crimson Tide will seek revenge after losing at the Iron Bowl last year.

Six games were also canceled or postponed due to positive coronavirus tests, five of which affected ranked teams. USC-Colorado was postponed Thursday.

Here are the games for this week. The number next to the school name indicates the Associated Press ranking.

Iowa State will try to compete for a major bowl game against Texas. Breece Hall has the Cyclones with 1. 169 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns listed. Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is trying to increase his touchdown total. He has 22 touchdown passes in the season.

This is Notre Dame’s first No.. 2 team in the nation. After a week of bye, Ian Book and his company will try to contain the high profile UNC offense. Sam Howell has 2. 631 passes and 23 touchdown passes.

The rival of the state of Oregon-Oregon will be renewed on Friday evening. It’s the first game since the rivalry that was renamed during the Civil War this summer. Oregon and Tyler Shough are battling for a spot in the college football playoffs but will likely have to go undefeated to even get a shot.

Even with a win last week, Justin Fields didn’t have a good game for the state of Ohio. The Buckeyes hope to get past Illinois. The Fighting Illinois have won a victory over Nebraska.

Kyle Trask will hope to continue his dominance in football this season and further represent the Heisman Trophy. He has 31 touchdown passes nationwide this season.

Louisiana may not be in the first college football playoff leaderboard release, but a win would keep them alive for a good bowl game. The Ragin Cajuns have a matchup against UL Monroe.

The Iron Bowl and the day after Thanksgiving are the perfect way to end the Christmas celebrations. Alabama lost to Auburn by three last year and picked her up from the College Football Playoff competition. Nick Saban won’t train this game after a second positive coronavirus test.
