The publicly traded modern meat, which includes a portfolio that includes meat-free burgers, meatballs and crab cakes, has the capacity to produce products worth 25 million, according to Real Vision. Like Modern Meat, the company supplies the retail and foodservice channels, but is also represented in club stores and private label stores and supplies customers in the United States and Canada.
The agreement for a mix of Modern Meat’s products, including burgers, meatballs and sauces, as well as future new products, is expected to begin in the first quarter.
Tara Haddad, Founder and CEO of Modern Meat, said today (Jan.. November) in a statement: « This is an important milestone for our company as it has long been a goal to manufacture and sell our products in the United States. We’re very excited to launch with an early adopters of plant-based vegan alternatives from California. We believe that by moving to an established co-manufacturing team, our company is expected to see significant sales growth. «
Earlier this month, Vancouver-based Modern Meat announced that it had acquired a selection of brands from JDW Distributors, a better-for-you US snacks company, including Sun Popped Potato Crisps, Sunflower Chips and Sunsations Fruit jellies.
Joseph Ertman, President of Real Vision, said in today’s statement: « We want to move forward very quickly with our partnership as it is a high priority product that will hopefully be produced within 90 days with Modern Meat. «
