Beginning this week, reports were still indicating that Edge would face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 as soon as he returned from a triceps tear, to wrap up the three-match match with « The Viper » that began at WrestleMania 36.. However, WrestleVotes appeared on Twitter on Monday with a new report stating that WWE is considering Edge’s new WrestleMania opponent – « The Fiend » Bray Wyatt.
The two haven’t even crossed yet since Edge has only worked with Orton since his return from retirement.. But given the dedication that Edge places towards both his promotions and storytelling classes that White brings with The Fiend, it might be an interesting match..
WrestleMania Update: Source explains that while Edge vs Randy Orton was a long-running plan, and still is for now, the idea for Edge vs The Fiend has been heavily discussed for the show.
It would also make for some fun TV shows over the next few months. If Drew McIntyre ends up challenging Roman Reigns as SmackDown hinted last week, that could mean Wyatt or Edge winning the Royal Rumble next January while the other takes the title away from Orton..
