The final episode of “Saturday Night Live” for the turbulent 2020 began with both the hot topic of the day and the hot topic of the month: Who would play the role of President-Elect Joe Biden in the Late -Night Sketch Comedy Series or. in the COVID-19 vaccine?.
The episode aired just hours after Jim Carrey announced that his stint as Biden would only last six weeks, and that he would therefore spend the rest of the 46. At a time when COVID cases continue to rise, the sketch served more as a teaching aid for those who were not yet informed about the vaccine or otherwise concerned than a parody.
When Rudolphs Harris showed up right after the vaccine was administered, Bennetts Pence asked her how she « got into the White House in the first place » to which she replied, « I won more votes, » then hit him when he said her and President-elect Joe Biden would “only be here soon, if these election results are correct. ”
McKinnon’s Giuliani showed up because he « heard they give out free medication » while Thompson asked Carson what he should do now and what his job was anyway so that he could put it on my résumé. ”
Moffats Biden kicked in with a boot on his foot to indicate his recent injury sustained from playing with his dog, but quickly flipped over to prove he was fine.
« I’m like Colonel Sanders: every time you see me I’m a different guy, » replied Moffats Biden. « The next time you see me, I’ll probably be Mario Lopez. ”
He was ready to get the vaccine too because Harris was worried about him. « I’m worried about you, Joe, mostly because on the day minus 40 in office you’re already in a cast, » she said.
« I just want to let the American people know one thing, » he said. « You will soon have a real leader again and you will have the most diverse cabinet in the history of American politics. ”
« And I will make sure Joe never specifies what he means by » diverse « , » added Harris of Rudolph.
Moffat joins the ranks of Kevin Nealon, Jason Sudeikis, Woody Harrelson, John Mulaney and of course Carrey on Biden’s list of “SNL” impressionists.
