Week 2 was a horrible injury week in the NFL and we lost a number of superstar players for extended periods of time
That being said, the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars were able to avoid major injuries and both teams are set to take the field to full force tonight.
In Week 1 they were the six-and-a-half point losers to the New England Patriots under Cam Newton, and in Week 2 they were again the losers of the Buffalo Bills.
And for the third week in a row, Vegas sided with the opponent of the Dolphins as they are the Jaguars’ three-point underdogs
But the Dolphins look better than their winless record suggests. Just 10 minutes into their game against the Bills, the Dolphins found the end zone and took a 20-17 lead
Although they were unable to hold onto the lead, Miami scored a touchdown with just 49 seconds left to cover all six points, losing 31-28
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled in the season opener, but rebounded well against Buffalo, totaling 328 yards and two touchdowns
He enters Thursday night’s game against the Jags with over / under props of 2,665 yards, 15 touchdowns and 365 winning attempts
One of the reasons Fitzpatrick succeeded in Week 2 was his connection with tight end Mike Gesicki
He enters Thursday night with a plus / minus 455 meters and is 210 to find the end zone
Tight ends have been successful against the Jags this year Last week, Jonnu Smith and Anthony Firkser of the Tennessee Titans combined for eight catches, 129 yards and two scores In Week 1, the tight end Indianapolis Colts Jack Doyle caught three passes for 49 yards
Miami will host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 and travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers the following week
If they don’t get a win over Jacksonville, that record could get really ugly, quick
The 24-year-old became a household name in 2019 thanks to the combination of his gunslinger mentality and facial hair
Minshew is tied for second with six touchdowns, fourth with 75, 4% completion rate, and his QB rating of 1157 is seventh in the league
He comes into the game with props over / under 2635 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 215 finishes
At the start of the season, we were all wondering who would play in this team
Cole entered the NFL in 2017 with the Jags, posting 748 receiving yards and three touchdowns But he’s struggled since then and has failed to exceed 500 yards in each of the last two seasons
Let’s be honest, the Jags are going to be watching a lot of games and if Minshew keeps posting big numbers, he won’t be looking just to DJ Chark
Cole currently belongs to just 151% of all ESPN leagues, so he could be worth a place in the deeper league roster
The Jags come in as three-point favorites in a game that could really go both ways
Jacksonville has been good this year and is 2-0 ATS, the Dolphins are 1-1
Jacksonville went 1-1 last season ATS as a home favorite, while Miami was a road underdog in every game in 2019 and was 5-3 against the gap
The Dolphins and Jaguars are a 4-0 combined this season and Vegas expects it to be one of the biggest games of the week
The 48’s total of 5 is less than just five other games on this week’s schedule
The way I see it is this: you have two quarterbacks that should throw the ball a lot And I mean a lot
Fitzpatrick is averaging 15 INTs per game this year and although he started just 13 games last season, he was in the top 10 for interceptions and interception percentage
