Rutland and Black Mountain are both back on power, but the FortisBC crews are still working on around 1. To restore electricity to 600 customers in East Kelowna.
(UPDATE: Dec. . 21 @ 12:20 pm) – FortisBC crews have around 1. 500 customers in Rutland are supplied with electricity again.
Unfortunately there are currently around 2. 000 customers in Black Mountain and another 2. 000 in East Kelowna in the dark.
(UPDATE: Dec. . 21 @ 10:45 am) – FortisBC now estimates that around 1:00 pm, more than 5. 000 Kelowna customers will be supplied with electricity again.

A cause of the outage has not yet been identified, but there is speculation via local Facebook groups that it was due to a fallen tree on a power line.
The failure affects around 1. 500 customers in Rutland, 2. 000 in Black Mountain and 2. 000 in East Kelowna.
