Welcome to Leafs Nation, Zach! We signed a one year contract with Zach Bogosian #LeafsForever Details: https: // tco / DMGoBfo66E picTwittercom / 5k5WCoSlV5
His contract is a million dollars and has a duration of one year Oh, and he has a cutting ring
Bogosian is a right-shooting defender who is tall and mean and has a deeper role now that he’s 30 He’s an interesting guy He’s one of the very few defensemen to join the NHL after the draft – he finished third overall in 2008 – but that’s at least in part because he was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers
He actually acquitted himself quite well there for a kid on an expansion team who was never good Bogosian traveled to Winnipeg when the team moved to become the Jets * , and he was eventually traded to the Buffalo Sabers where he served some of the worst hockey teams since the Thrashers were a thing
I have to admit I had a smile on my face when he won the cup He owed something good He won this cup after a deadline trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning who was targeting big guys and villains, and he’s had two assists in eight regular season games, four assists in 20 playoff games and the aforementioned ring They re-signed Luke Schenn, so we’re same
Buffalo put Bogosian on unconditional waivers in February He signed with Tampa A in 20 playoff games (with four assists) leading to a 12-year-old NHL Cup victory, this was his first playoff appearance

I had forgotten that Bogo basically engineered a mid-season buyout to get rid of Buffalo Considering he’s from a town just down the freeway, that says a lot about Buffalo
What does he like as a player? Not very well! But also, not badly He’s probably a replacement level depth specialist now, but you don’t have to go back more than two years to find decent defensive impacts in his results.
Is he as good as Justin Holl? No, probably not, although they play so differently I’m not sure that’s a meaningful comparison Let’s test it type vs. type
