Paramedics arrived in Toronto and began performing CPR to the man after he was found without any vital signs..
The police said the man remained in a life-threatening condition, but succumbed to his wounds shortly after.
Toronto police spokesman David Hopkinson said the woman was taken to hospital with severe injuries.
Police said the suspect in the stabbing is now being held and there is no threat to public safety at this time.
