Toronto police say a body was found following a house fire in the northern tip of Toronto on Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews are called to Norton Street, south of Willowdale and Finch Streets, at around 5:15 a.m.. M. There are two fire alarms in a separate house.

When the firefighters arrived, flames were coming out from the second floor, Steve Darling, the platoon chief with the Toronto Fire, told Global News.

Darling said that firefighters did a primary search, and after the fire was put out they did a secondary search, when they found a dead person on the second floor. .

Medics in Toronto said the person was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.

Darling said it appears that the dwelling is divided into multiple units with more than one family living inside the house.

Police said investigators are not sure if the fire is suspicious and are waiting for a firefighter to attend the scene..
