The Chicago Cubs will play the Los Angeles Angels at Diablo Stadium in Tempe today. Ian Happ plays CF, followed by Willson Contreras on DH, Joc Pederson on LF, Kris Bryant on 3B and Javy Báez on SS. David Bote plays 2B with the sixth stroke, followed by Cameron Maybin on the right, Matt Duffy on 1B and PJ Higgins on Catch.

Thompson was named to the Cubs’ 40-man list back in November 2020, which was prior to drafting Rule 5 in the December sheltered. The Cubs have high hopes for Thompson, who at the age of 26 could make his Major League debut for the Cubs this season if he can stay healthy.
