This week in Italy, the Coppa Italia hits the last eight as the quarter-finals take place Tuesday through Thursday. Seven Serie A teams remain, while one Serie B team, SPAL, is hoping to massively upset Juventus and reach the final four.
As with any cup competition, be sure to check the starting line-ups before the game because of overload The games at this point in the season can lead to a certain rotation of the squad.
The first game of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals starts on Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. EST with a major Milan derby between Inter Milan and AC Milan.
Both Milanese made their debut in the last round of the round of 16 in this competition. For AC Milan, they were marginalized against Serie A teammates, Turin. After a 0-0 draw, they had to accept penalties. In the last round, Inter also played against Serie A and won 2-1 on the way to Fiorentina.

In the league game, both of them achieve disappointing results this weekend. League leaders AC Milan were shocked 3-0 at home against Atalanta. It was the first time since January 6, 2020 that Milan failed to score in the league, a series of 38 league games in a row with one goal. There are now two out of four defeats for Milan in Serie A and both against top opponents, who also lost 3-1 to Juventus.

Inter have only won one of four in Serie A after the 0-0 draw against Udinese on Friday. They previously had an impressive win (2-0) against Juve, but before that they could only accept one draw and one loss to Roma and Sampdoria.
Milan won this rivalry for the first time in five games when they played on 17. October won 2-1 in the league. Previously, Inter won both games last season 4-2 and 2-0. Inter also won both games in the 2018/19 season.
In this last 2-1 win in Milan, all three goals were scored in the first half. A bet on more than 1.5 goals in the first half has odds of 150 on Tuesday. The expected goals (xG) for both teams in this game were 2.3 (Milan) and 2.4 (Inter). Milan also have to do without goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (suspension) but recently welcomed Zlatan Ibrahimovic back, with the star striker scoring twice against Cagliari last week. A bet where both teams score could be a good parlay pick at (-175), but goals from both sides and at least three total goals seem like the best value.
In the round of 16, Atalanta took care of them 3-1 home to Cagliari while Lazio passed Parma. With the 0-0 draw, Lazio won the match with a 90 ‘own goal from Parma. Despite falling back early, Parma came back strong overall in the second half, holding 52 percent possession with nine attempts and three shots on goal.
Duván Zapata to Zlatan when AC Milan faced Atalanta: « You can’t play without it Finish the sentence, do you want the 13th? »
Both teams caught fire in Serie A. After beating AC Milan 3-0 on Saturday, Atalanta is unbeaten in ten league games and a total of 13. In the last six home games in total, La Dea has only scored at least three goals once, beating their opponents 18-3 in these games.
After the 2-1 win against Sassuolo on Sunday, Lazio now has four times won in a row and is unbeaten in Serie A in five and a total of six times. In Lazio’s last five victories, they have scored several goals each, outperforming their opponents 11-3. It is worth noting, however, that four of the five wins were at home. Outside the Stadio Olimpico, I Biancocelesti only won one of the last four.
🇮🇹🏆 Thanks to a last-minute win against Parma, Lazio were the 8th team up to the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia last night.
These Teams have exchanged a lot of goals in recent competitions. Atalanta won 4-1 earlier this season, while the teams won 3-3 and Atalanta 3-2 at home last season. The last time they met in Coppa Italia was in 2019 when Lazio won 2-0 in Atalanta.
La Dea has the remaining advantage after playing on Saturday compared to Lazio who played on Sunday has played. Again, it’s hard not to like goals in this game and both teams (-188) seem likely. At home, with the remaining advantage, I give Atalanta the small advantage.
In the second game on Wednesday, the current champions Juventus will receive the only remaining non-Serie A team in the Coppa at 2:45 p.m. EST in the Allianz Stadium Italia, SPAL.
Juve appeared to be on their way to a straight win against Genoa in the round of 16. With 2-0 in just 23 minutes Genoa would strike back and send the game into extra time. It was there, in the 104th minute, when Hamza Rafia Juve secured passage into the next round. With 13 shots on goal and 24 attempts on another day, Juve might have gotten this match to bed earlier. In the league, Juve recovered from a 2-0 defeat by Inter with a 2-0 win over Bologna on Sunday.

SPAL took part in the second round of this competition when they beat Bari on penalties after a 0-0 draw with Bari. After a 1-1 draw, they won again in the third round on penalties against Crotone. In the fourth round they won at home against Monza 2-0 and in the round of 16 against Sassuolo 2-0. Sassuolo’s win is impressive, but the Neroverdi were reduced to ten men in the 47th minute. in front of both SPAL destinations. Still, Sassuolo held 64 percent of the property.
With SPAL in Serie B, she and Juventus have not yet played this season. Last season, when SPAL was still in the top division of Italy, Juve won both games 2-0 at home and 2-1 on the road.

As long as Andrea Pirlo has a strong line-up, this has to be the end of the line for SPAL. Even Ronaldo, who started on the bench on the last lap, came as a replacement and it’s likely we’ll see the Portuguese star again on Wednesday. SPAL is currently the fourth-placed team in Serie B. And on the road they are only 3-4-3 (WDL), scoring nine and collecting eleven.
Juventus, who win to zero (-138), could be in the cards, but can always be a bit dangerous if SPAL scores. I’ll settle for a Juve win with two or more goals instead.
The final quarter-final game will take place on Thursday at 3 p.m. EST in Napoli (sixth Serie A), where Spezia (15th) will be played / p> The current champions of the competition, Napoli, started in the last round of this year’s tournament, defeating Empoli 3-2.
In Serie A they had won two games in a row, but had to beat Hellas Verona with 1 : Give 3 beaten.
Spezia went to Coppa Italia in the third round and defeated Cittadella 2-0 on the street. In the fourth round they beat Bologna 4-2, also on the street. In the second round, Spezia led AS Roma 2-1, but I Giallorossi would draw level and drive the game into extra time. Two red cards from Roma in extra time led Spezia to a 4-2 win, which later officially ended as 3-0. This is because the judge of the Roma ruled by Legia Serie A had used an additional submarine in the game.

In the league game, Spezia only lost one of the last four games, but that was a 4-3 defeat against Roma at the weekend. Spezia fell 3-1 back, but fought for a draw in the 90th minute, only to concede a fourth and decisive goal two minutes later in the 92nd minute.
Spezia is new to the series this season A, but we only saw this matchup earlier this month. On January 6th, Spezia traveled to Naples and received a shock when he defeated Gli Azzurri 2-1. All three goals came in the second half. Andrea Petagna scored first for Napoli before Mbala N’Zola scored a penalty and Tommaso Pobega scored the winner for Spezia. Napoli had 57 percent possession and a lead on tries (27-8) and shots on goal (11-4).
As strong as Napoli was this season (they won 6-0 two games ago), they did also have to accept some setbacks. In their last eight in the league they are only 3-1-4 (WDL). They only showed in the last lap that they can admit. In the last 12 games of all competitions they have conceded at least once in 11 games.
The list of games is also increasing, as they lost 2-0 in the Super Cup final against Juventus last Wednesday. A disappointment that clearly carried over to the weekend game against Verona.
Given the size of every team in the league, I think this Coppa Italia game has great value. We have just seen how upset Spezia was against Napoli this month so an outright win could be possible. Even so, it will be a tough one. Specia with a handicap of 1.5 is an option at -108. If you’re in the mood for a high-scoring match, the Spezia team is in play with a grand total of OVER 1.5 at 350, as are both teams and OVER 2.5 at 120. For me this is probably the best bet, but you can even find both teams to score at a very attractive -110.
Napoli will always be a threat to goal, while Spezia in Serie A is between 15: 4 and over 2.5. Both teams scored in 13/19 Spezia games.
