An NSW Corrective Services officer was charged with manslaughter after an investigation into a fatal shootout was conducted outside Lismore Base Hospital.
Richmond Police District officials were called on Friday, March 15, 2019 at around 7:30 pm AM called to Lismore Base Hospital after reported shooting outside.
Upon arrival, they found a 43-year-old man who was seriously injured after he was allegedly shot and killed by a Corrective Service officer while trying to escape .
After extensive investigations and a coronial investigation, a 57-year-old man visited the police station in Lismore today (Friday, February 5, 2021) where he was charged with manslaughter.
