For the ceremony, Erivo, styled by Jason Bolden, followed the neon trend and wore a green umbrella dress – a view straight from the Paris runway by Valentino Haute Couture. The dress had a net suit-like mesh construction with thick vertical lines in the middle and on the sides. Erivo combined the dress with beige leather gloves and eye-catching earrings from Wempe.
For the shoes, Erivo opted for a daring pair of metallic platform heels, also from Valentino. The shoes sat on a 10-inch heel. Erivo completed the look with her platinum buzz cut.
Of the heels, Bolden shared during the pre-broadcast of E! With: “The shoes are like skyscrapers! The color and shape [of the dress] are so bold and … add some much needed imagination. “
For this year’s ceremony, Erivo will present along with other A-listers including Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick and others.
Erivo was named last year for her captivating role in » Harriet « , who tells the story of slave abolitionist Harriet Tubman, was nominated for best actress in a motion picture drama. It was also nominated for Best Original Song in a Movie for « Stand Up. »
The Golden Globes will be broadcast live on NBC. Tina Fey moderates from the Rainbow Room in New York City, while Amy Poehler from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles moderates.
