A century of David Warner’s led NSW to a one-day cup win by three wickets against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval.
Despite losing several late wickets, the Blues reached their goal of 259 on Thursday with seven balls to their Building on the lead on the table.
Warner, who played his third international game after returning from a groin injury that derailed his international summer, beat 10 fours in his 108 of 115 deliveries.
He shared one 96-run stand with veteran Moises Henriques (47 of 55) ironing out much of the chase.
Since his comeback, Warner has scored 87 points in the one-day cup against South Australia and Sheffield Shield results against the same team Scored 24 and 69.
The test opener, which was dropped twice, was past Jackson Bird to Tim Paine in 43rd, but his team’s tail finished the job.
NSW has three wins au s four games in an abbreviated tournament in which each team plays five games before the best two compete in the final.
After a flying start, the Tigers, who were sent in after losing the throw, fought their way back in the competition.
Openers Caleb Jewell (70 of 51) and Ben McDermott (68 of 70) took the long handle on a heavy blues attack with Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon and Sean Abbott.
They left a bubbly 138-year partnership until Jewell beat Ben Dwarshuis, who finished the bowler selection 4-50. The Tigers 9-258 was won by a late swing from Nathan Ellis, 31, and Jackson Bird, 28 not out) helped.
Lyon and the fast Liam Hatcher both took a number of wickets, while Captain Cummins was the most economical with 0:33 of ten overs.
