Sport has long been likened to war, so it was no surprise that football players wanted to attend a training session in the 41st Battalion of the Royal New South Wales Regiment Headquarters in Lismore on Tuesday March 9th.
As the Australian Army’s infantry battalion, the 41st training night was the brainchild of Bombardier Thomas Hart, who runs to the front line with the Lismore Swans AFC senior AFC team.
Hart, who has been in the green machine for 12 years, said that the session was tough and he was very impressed that his teammates were doing so well, especially considering the heat and humidity.
