World news – Dodgers score in the final inning to tie Giants 1-1

Walker Buehler and Dustin May each tossed two scoreless innings into the seven-inning duel Tuesday night in Scottsdale, Arizona.

THE GAME: The Dodgers rallied Tuesday night at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Stadium in the seventh (and final) inning against the San Francisco Giants for a 1-1 draw.

PITCHING REPORT: Right-handed Walker Buehler started the spring for the first time, throwing two goalless innings. Bühler only allowed a baserunner on a Jason Vosler double in the first inning and knocked out one. … Right-handed Dustin May pitched two goalless innings and touched 100 mph on the stadium’s radar gun. May gave up a double and a walk in his second inning but knocked out Darin Ruf and got Maricio Dubon to ricochet. … Right-handed Nick Robertson knocked out two of the three batters he faced in his one inning. … Left-handed Alex Vesia gave up the only run the Dodgers allowed in the sixth inning. Two singles, a wild pitch and a mistake by left field player Andy Pages set up a victim fly from Logan Wyatt.

HIT REPORT: Mookie Betts had his first hit of the spring, a double on the left field line. … Austin Barnes was on a base twice and a walk on the base. … The Dodgers combined the score with a run in the seventh, triggered by Michael Busch’s pinch of double. James Outman drove him two batters later with a double-to-center field. … The two teams only managed four goals each.
DEFENSE REPORT: Edwin Rios showed his improved defense on third base, popped to his left to smother a one-jump missile from Lamont Wade Jr.’s bat in the third inning, and bounced to him on the first base. … James Outman made a nice dive on Wyatt’s drive in the Giants’ only run.

UP NEXT: Reds (RHP Jeff Hoffman) versus Dodgers (LHP Julio Urias) at Camelback Ranch, Wednesday 6pm. PT, SportsNet LA, MLB Network, 570 p.m.
