For those who missed Dolly Parton’s MusiCares concert, the special tribute concert will be airing on Netflix next month. With the title « Dolly Parton: A MusiCares Tribute », the concert feature gives fans the opportunity to watch an industry-standard event.
Dolly Parton is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, writer, businesswoman and humanitarian aid worker and was hailed as a country music icon. While called The Queen of Country, Dolly Parton has sold over a hundred million records worldwide. Her music includes RIAA certified gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards. 25 songs reached # 1 on the Billboard Country Music Chart (one record for an artist) and a number of other phenomenal awards. Before she received the MusiCares Person of the Year award in 2019, it seemed like a tribute concert would be a long time coming.
Dolly Parton refuses to be placed on a pedestal in the capital of Tennessee. Fans call her « the true spirit of the south ».
One description for the concert on Netflix reads: « On an evening full of music and memories, Dolly Parton is named MusiCares Person of the Year by a community of famous artists. » In a recent announcement for the Parton special itself, the country star described it as a « night to remember ». Parton was inducted just before the Grammy Awards in February 2019 and became the first country artist to be named « MusiCares Person of the Year » during the Los Angeles Outstanding Ceremony.
When she received her award, said she: « I’m really honored to be the MusiCares Person of the Year and the first country artist to be honored. » Parton added, « I can really feel the love in this house tonight … it’s a long, long walk from the hills of East Tennessee to the Hollywood Hills, but it’s been a wonderful journey. »

The land queen donated $ 1 million to research behind the development of the Moderna vaccine, according to NME. Before getting the vaccine, she told her fans, « I’m so excited. I’ve waited a while. I’m old enough to get it and I’m smart enough to get it. » She added, « I’m trying to be funny now, but I’m absolutely serious about the vaccine. I think we all want to get back to normal, whatever that is. And that would be a great shot in the arm, wouldn’t it? » Isn’t it so if we could come back to it? «
