Dwyane Wade left professional basketball as a player more than two years ago. However, he continues to issue a statement on NBA courts in which current stars wear sneakers from his Li-Ning-sponsored Way of Wade basketball line.
Wade shared pictures of his Way of Wade 9 shoe on Instagram, his latest signature sneaker with the Chinese sports company coming soon.
« 3 brands, 3 signature shoes, and I shouldn’t even be here … that’s what they said, » said Wade in the caption on his Instagram post. « Now that I’m still here, let’s move on! »
Since this is a first look at the Li-Ning way of Wade 9, the brand has yet to reveal the technology behind the sneaker. However, ESPN’s Nick DePaula first reported on Twitter that the silhouette is available in both high and low top styles. The first variant has an innovative BOA Fit lacing system with a selector cable, with the latter pair opting for a traditional lacing system. Both pairs have a zippered flap covering the upper, a foam midsole with an exposed pocket on the midfoot, and a rubber outsole. The first offers of the Way of Wade 9 will be available in monochrome black and white colors.
The Li-Ning Way of Wade 9 will be seen on the NBA courts by NBA star D’Angelo Russell this season who signed a deal late last year to represent Wade’s Way of Wade brand for the future.
Although Wade’s Way 9 has been posted on social media, the Wade or brand’s release information has not yet been released confirmed.
