After years of in-line pursuit and a short and fiery campaign by Brekky moderators Bryce and Ebony Triple J has finally made it: Australia’s most famous band, The Wiggles, will make their Like A Version debut this Friday.
OG members Murray Cook (better known for his guitar shredder chops these days) and Jeff will be back for the occasion, joining the current cast of Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce and Emma Watkins. « Murray Wiggle, the rock god, he agreed. The OGs are getting together with the current Wiggles and we’re going to create music history with a great song on Like a Version … We can’t wait, » Field told fans in a video earlier this week -Announcement.
The news hit Triple J fans like a freight train, and the rumor mill has been running hot ever since – which song will The Wiggles choose for their first LAV appearance?
On Triple J’s subreddit, speculation is on wild – everything from « WAP » to « Architecture In Helsinki » and « TISM » to Sandi Thom’s one-hit wonder « I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (with flowers in her hair) ».
« WAP » seems to be a popular choice – in both Facebook comments from Music Junkee and in news articles and on Twitter. Someone also bravely asked them to cover a Death Grips song, which would surely be a moment.
On Elsewhere in Music Junkee’s comments were suggestions like R egurgitator, Tool, Slipknot, Metallica, « Killing In The Name » and « Get On The Beers », the Mashd N Kutcher track starring Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews.
I can’t imagine the wobbly movements that make one Death Grips Song Cover As A Version
Yesterday, Music Feeds released five potential songs that would make for top-notch Wiggles covers, including Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s « Uptown Funk », Powderfingers « Baby I Have You (on my mind) « and » The Angels « , am I ever I’ll see your face again ‘(no way, get fucked, fuck off, etc).
It’s worth nothing The wiggles have shape when it’s about covers – who could forget the time you spent on U2’s « Angel Of Harlem »? You’ve also tried One Direction, Ariana Grande, Elton John, and The Rolling Stones.
It’s everyone’s guess – but at least we don’t have to wait long to find out. The Wiggles will go to the studio on Triple J tomorrow morning.
