World News – GB – BBC confirms Gavin and Stacey will be returning « someday » for a future installment

fans of Gavin and Stacey can expect a return of popular Ruth Jones and James Corden comedy series after the hit special aired on the BBC One Last Christmas

After fans shared their disappointment, the popular series was missing from this year’s festive TV program.

Viewers were hoping the cast would band together on another special so they could finally find out what had happened after Nessa Smithy made a suggestion on Christmas Day.

However, according to Charlotte Moore, chief content officer, a 2020 episode was never planned.

The most popular Christmas program last year was the festive comeback of Gavin and Stacey, with Ruth Jones and James Corden returning to write the series’ first episode since the comedy series ended in 2010.

It comes after child actor Oscar Hartland, who plays Nessa and Smithy’s son Neil the Baby in the 2019 Christmas Special, revealed that James Corden suggested there would be more Instlmanets.

Speaking about Good Morning Britain, Neil said, « I asked James while we were filming. He said it’s exactly what people want.

« Me, I would love it if it happened. It really comes down to what other people think of it and whether they like it or not. « 

Neil announced his personal hopes for a comeback and hopes that the infamous cliffhanger from last year’s special will be resolved with Smithy saying « yes » to Nessa’s proposal.

He said, « I want you to do so much series four. I want Smithy to say yes and for the final episode to be their wedding. « 

In the meantime, the BBC still has a lot to look forward to this festive season.

In addition to EastEnders’ traditional dramatic Christmas rates, viewers can also expect special episodes of the historical drama Call the Midwife, the revived sitcom The Vicar of Dibley, and the comedy series Mrs Brown’s Boys.

In addition, the science fiction drama Doctor Who is also slated for the Daleks’ Christmas Special Revolution, in which John Barrowman will also return as his icon, Captain Jack Harkness.
